Giannis Antetokounmpo’s wife is speaking out this week after some fans went too far following the 2025 EuroBasket tournament.
Mariah Riddlesprigger, the longtime partner of the Milwaukee Bucks star Antetokounmpo, revealed that she received online death threats this month in the wake of the EuroBasket competition. Riddlesprigger shared one particular message to her Instagram Story that disturbingly read, “We will kill your entire family. You will be afraid everywhere you go.”
“People in this world are so disappointing,” Riddlesprigger wrote in the caption. “All over a [basketball emoji]. I hope those that are making hateful comments and sending disgusting messages to my family are proud of yourselves! But since you want to reach out to me privately, I will be sure to let the world know publically who you are.
“And to all @tbf [Turkish Basketball Federation] fans, congratulations on your [silver medal emoji],” continued Riddlesprigger. “Y’all have an amazing team!!! However to your fans, there’s no place for this type of behavior in sports. Actually there’s no place for this type of behavior PERIOD!!!”
Here is a screenshot of Riddlesprigger’s post.

Antetokounmpo, 30, and Riddlesprigger, 32, have been together since 2014 and got married in September of last year. They share four young children together, ages 5, 4, 2, and four months. The couple has also gone viral in the past over their wholesome moments together.
At EuroBasket this year, Antetokounmpo and Greece got blown out by Turkey in the semifinal round but went on to defeat Finland in the third-place game to finish with the bronze medal. Meanwhile, Turkey ended up claiming silver after losing to Germany in the championship game.
After the Greece-Turkey matchup, Antetokounmpo had a notable war of words with Turkey star Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets. Antetokounmpo also subsequently got vulgar after being trolled by Turkish fans online, and now it appears that the threat messages sent to his wife may have played a part in his angry response.
