Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green is one of the strongest personalities you’ll ever see on a basketball court. He’s a no-nonsense guy in every sense of the word, and he’s proven time and time again that he doesn’t take smack from anybody.
Be that as it may, even Green himself could not help but question himself after all the negativity that was thrown in his direction throughout the season. So much so, that the former Defensive Player of the Year considered turning his back on the game altogether.
At one point in the season, people were saying that Green needed help. This is after his violent actions on the court got him suspended indefinitely, thereby leaving the Warriors without one of their best players.
Green heard all the slander loud and clear. In fact, he took it to heart.
“It took me through a range of emotions,” he said of the media saying that he needs help, via The Big Podcast by Shaq. “It pissed me off. It made me sad. It made me just sit and think. It took me to dark places. … This has now gotten to a point of where I’m not sure this is what I want. I’m not sure I want to continue to play basketball if this is what has become.”

As Green implied in his heartfelt statement, he does not regret his actions. What he is adamant about, however, is the fact that he’s not the same person off the court as he is when he’s on it. The worst part for the Warriors vet is people attacking his character and his name for the things that he does to win a basketball game.
