The Houston Rockets season came to end on Sunday night as they lost game 7 103-89 to the Golden State Warriors. Overall, it was a good season for the Rockets as they won 52 games during the regular season. Houston was able to gain valuable playoff experience as this series was the first playoff series for most of the players.
Jalen Green had a tough playoff experience as he struggled from the floor as he was far from the player he was during the regular season. The Warriors threw a lot of double and triple teams at Green to make it tough for him. Draymond Green had several words of encouragement for Jalen during his post game interview.

Draymond also feels like Rockets head coach Ime Udoka prepared the Rockets the best way he could.

Houston will go into the offseason with a lot of positive thinking as they are well ahead of their rebuilding phase. It should be an interesting offseason for Green and the Rockets.

Matas Buzelis Hints at Josh Giddey’s Contract Situation in Cryptic Instagram Story
Josh Giddey joined the Chicago Bulls just a year ago, but already, there are rumors of turbulence between him and the front office. Many Bulls fans want him to stay, and so does his teammate Matas Buzelis, who voiced his opinion through a rather cryptic Instagram story. Giddey’s rookie deal, which he signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder, will end in 2026. His camp is seeking around $30 million per year, but the Bulls have reportedly only gone as high as $20 million per year on a four-year deal. That is the sticking point, as Giddey is unsure if he wants to commit to this offer when other teams might be willing to pay more. Buzelis’ story, which featured only a pen and paper emoji, could be hinting that Giddey is staying with the Bulls and has already signed a deal. Alternatively, it could be his way of calling for either the Aussie or the Bulls to fold and give in to the other’s demands. It may be difficult for the Bulls to comply and give Giddey $30 million a year. Yes, Giddey will soon be an unrestricted free agent, putting Chicago in position where they could lose him without getting anything in return, but Stacey King recently explained how the Patrick Williams situation taught the Bulls executives a lesson. “I think they learned their lesson last year with Patrick Williams. They were in the same situation… A restricted free agent, and they were bidding against themselves,” the three-time NBA champ said. Williams got a 5 year/$90 million extension after a rather underwhelming 2023/24 season, and he proceeded to have an even worse campaign. Giddey becoming complacent after signing a massive deal might also be a slight fear within the Bulls FO. It’s safe to say Giddey didn’t set the Eastern Conference on fire with his performances last season but he did put it on notice. He finished in the top 10 in the league in assists per game and in the top 20 in rebounds. Is that worth $30 million a year? Maybe. But the man who publicly called for Giddey to stay — or inadvertently announced his extension — is definitely one for the future. Hometown hero Matas Buzelis Buzelis, born in Chicago, was the Bulls’ 11th pick in the 2024 Draft and immediately showed that he is worth keeping an eye on for the future. He was not the Rookie of the Year or a stalwart like some of the other rookies, but he patiently put in the work behind the scenes in the G League and earned a spot on the All-Rookie Second Team. Bulls Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Arturas Karnisovas believes that his work ethic is something special. He also praised Buzelis’ abilities at the end of last season, saying, “He has so much skill in his bag. Shooting threes, blocking shots, running the break, dunking the ball, he’s athletic, he can put it on the floor, create for others, so we’ve seen a lot of it.” Buzelis is also someone who “wants to be coached,” as per Karnisovas. That is a trait down-to-earth talents possess, knowing that the way to the top is hard work. Buzelis is surely putting it in, and for him, the sky is the limit.
Oregon suspends former five-star WR recruit indefinitely
Oregon wide receiver Jurrion Dickey has struggled to live up to expectations in his first two seasons with the Ducks, and he is now in a terrible position heading into 2025 as well. Dickey has been suspended indefinitely by Oregon, head coach Dan Lanning announced on Tuesday. Lanning also suggested that Dickey may not play for the Ducks again. "We have two team rules; that’s respectful, be on time,” Lanning said, via James Crepea of The Oregonian. “There’s some pieces of that where I felt like he needed a break from us and we needed a break from that so we could focus on what’s in front of us right now. "Wishing him nothing but the best, as far as success and want to see him get back to where he can be a contributor somewhere; that might be here that might be somewhere else.” Dickey was a five-star recruit and rated as one of the top wide receivers in the country when he came out of Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, California, in 2023. He suffered an injury in his senior year in high school and redshirted as a freshman at Oregon. Dickey has two catches for 14 years during his time with the Ducks. Oregon went 13-1 in Lanning's third season with the program last season. The Ducks lost to eventual national champion Ohio State in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.
Milwaukee Brewers: Willy Adames Gets Brutally Honest About Giants Tailspin Amid Ex-Team’s Historic Run
As his former team, the Milwaukee Brewers, continues to rack up wins, Willy Adames is left searching for answers with the San Francisco Giants, who have lost five games in a row following an 11-1 drubbing at the hands of the San Diego Padres at home on Wednesday. It has been a brutal second half of the season thus far for Adames and the Giants, who have dropped to 10 games outside of first place in the National League West standings. The Giants had a 50.4 percent chance to make the 2025 MLB playoffs on June 15, per FanGraphs. After the sweep at the hands of the Padres, San Francisco is projected to join the postseason party by just 2.8 percent. Meanwhile, the Brewers, who defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday to complete a sweep, are on a 12-game win streak and carry a 100 percent chance to make the postseason, to date. Ex-Milwaukee Brewers star Adames not happy with Giants’ state Adames shared his true feelings about his team, which saw him go 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in the loss to San Diego. “It feels like for the last two months, it’s the same story,” Adames said after the series finale loss to the Padres, per Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area. “It feels like for some reason nothing positive is coming. It’s either a jam shot hitting the base with the bases loaded [that was] a double-play ball. Something negative is in the air. We haven’t been able to figure out how to beat it and how to be better out there. It seems that it’s been the same story. Added Adames: “It sucks. It’s bad, because we have a really good team in here but it hasn’t gone our way lately.” Adames, who played four seasons with the Brewers before signing a seven-year, $182 million contract with the Giants in December, is batting just .223/.309/.393, so far in his first year with San Francisco.
The Telegraph detail significant issue as Chelsea look to complete deal for Alejandro Garnacho
Chelsea and Manchester United are some distance apart on their valuation for Alejandro Garnacho according to The Telegraph. The Blues have been busy this summer and have made four really exciting signings in Jorrel Hato, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Liam Delap. However, the Blues aren’t finished there, and they are still looking to add Xavi Simons and Garnacho before the end of the window. Chelsea and Man United apart on Garnacho valuation Chelsea were first linked with Garnacho back in January, and those links have continued throughout the summer, and it now very much feels like a case of when rather than if the Argentine joins. The Blues are said to have agreed personal terms with Garnacho, and the deal is believed to be done on the player side. Chelsea are now in conversations with United over a fee, but The Telegraph have reported there’s some distance in valuation between the clubs. The report states Chelsea value Garnacho at around £30m, and are using a lower bid from Bayer Leverkusen in January as their benchmark. United reportedly want £50m for Garnacho, who’s made it clear he only wants to join Chelsea this summer, and it feels like this could go right up to the final days of the window. If Garnacho does join then he will likely compete with Gittens for the left wing spot, and the Argentina international scored 11 goals and registered ten assists in 58 games in all competitions last season. Still no breakthrough in Xavi Simons deal Whilst there’s a feeling Garnacho will happen, it feels like there’s now less confidence that a deal for Simons will happen. Chelsea are still locked in negotiations with RB Leipzig, but as of yet no official offer has been made, although Simons is keen on the move. Leipzig are said to want a total package of £60m, but Chelsea reportedly want to try and agree a fee of around £50m, and there’s a worry Manchester City could try and hijack the deal.
