Draymond Green is definitely no stranger to controversies off and on the court. However, the Golden State Warriors star pointed out how unfair the NBA was to him after the league ruled on Jamal Murray’s antics during the Denver Nuggets’ series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
For as long as anyone can remember, Green has been known as a controversial player due to his on-court antics and how his physicality has affected other guys. Among the many incidents he has been involved in are taking a violent swipe at Jusuf Nurkic, kicking All-Star LeBron James in the groin, and choking Minnesota Timberwolves Rudy Gobert this season.
Due these incidents, Green has been suspended a number of times by the NBA. This has caused the Warriors to lose key games without their defensive anchor in the lineup. Over the course of his 12-year run in the league, he has averaged 8.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1,3 steals per game. He has also won the Defensive Player of the Year in 2017 and named to eight All-Defensive teams.
This season, though, the Dubs didn’t make the playoffs due to the regression of key players, such as shooting guard Klay Thompson and wing Andrew Wiggins. Green’s various controversies this year and subsequent absences also contributed to their poor record.
Even though he has been involved in several controversies, Green has no problem airing his side out. The latest can be seen in a video posted by The Big Podcast’s official account on X:
“I would have gotten suspended for the rest of the playoffs.”

The incident Green was talking about occurred during Game 2 against Anthony Edwards’ Minnesota Timberwolves . In that game, Murray threw a heat pack at a referee out of frustration, which led to calls to suspend the Denver Nuggets star.
It remains to be seen whether the league will turn a kinder eye on Green next season or not. In any case, he makes a good argument in pointing out how Murray got off easily from the said incident.
