Golden State Warriors: Klay Thompson’s True Feelings on Joining LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers
Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Golden State Warriors news: LeBron James has reportedly already indicated his desire to play alongside Klay Thompson. According to reports the NBA’s all-time leading scorer would be willing to take a significant pay cut if the Lakers are able to sign Thompson via free agency.

Apparently, Thompson himself is very much open to the idea.

Golden State Warriors: Klay Thompson ‘Intrigued’ by Lakers Move

It does not seem like Thompson and the Warriors are close to getting a deal done. This likely means that the five-time All-Star will be entering free agency once the window opens on Sunday night.

According to a report by Lakers insider Brad Turner of the LA Times, Thompson intends to explore the possibility of a move to Hollywood:

“Sources: Klay Thompson is intrigued about playing with the Lakers and LeBron James, provided he re-signs with the Lakers. Thompson plans on talking with the Lakers, as well as Dallas,” Turner reported.

Let’s also not forget that Thompson was born and raised in LA, so a move to the Lakers would be a homecoming for him. His father, Mychal Thompson, is also a former Lakers player, and you can be sure that dad would love to see his son donning the Purple & Gold.

This is far from a one-horse race, though, with Thompson also set to meet with the Dallas Mavericks. The Warriors are, of course, still in the race, but it appears that the Dubs could now be on the outside looking in.
