Golden State Warriors Make A Roster Move On Thursday
USA TODAY Sports

On Tuesday, the Golden State Warriors lost 134-124 to the Los Angeles Clippers.

They will now be off until February 23 when they visit the Los Angeles Lakers for their first game after the All-Star break.

On Wednesday, the team announced that they had assigned rookie Patrick Baldwin Jr. to the G League.

Just one day later, the Warriors have now recalled him from the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Via Warriors PR: "The 2022 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors have recalled forward Patrick Baldwin Jr. from the team's G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, it was announced today."

Baldwin Jr. was the 28th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft this past summer (out of Milwaukee) and he is averaging 5.0 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest in 16 games with the Warriors.

The 20-year-old has also played in 17 G League games, and is averaging 12.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest.

On Wednesday, he had five points, one rebound and two assists in ten minutes of playing time (he got injured during the second quarter).

Santa Cruz defeated the Texas Legends 130-111.

He has been sent back and forth between the G League and the NBA many times this season, which is probably a good thing for his development.

The Warriors are a team in win-now mode and have won four NBA Championships in the last eight seasons.

Therefore, there is not a lot of room for a young player to develop, so the G League provides that opportunity.
