This NBA Playoff series between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves is for all basketball lovers. This series will begin on Tuesday, May 6, at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at 8:30 PM, CDT.

These two first-round winners are in shape and rhythm. Both are coming in stronger than ever before from a series where neither of them were the favorites. The roster on both teams stepped up in the last series and is pushing strongly to pursue the ultimate goal. These are two scenarios that we can see developing in Game 1. Will the Warriors be able to steal the game?

Scenario One In Warriors-Timberwolves Series

This Minnesota team keeps the hype and plays well in Game 1. They take advantage of the extra recovery days before the start of this series. They are a well-coached team. The roster has been locked in since the Lakers series, and fans want to see more of it. Their outcome will depend on the series from Julius Randle, Naz Reid, and Donte DiVincenzo.

Scenario Two

The championship pedigree comes out of the veteran Warriors. The younger players take a step forward as the dark horse team of the Western Conference Playoffs.

The Dubs team with Stephen Curry, Jimmy Buttler, and Draymond Green is carrying the torch from the players and teams of a younger generation. So, for that matter, there is some pressure on their shoulders.

Has a 7 Seed Ever Won An NBA Championship?

Not yet. The only two 7 seeds that have made it to the Conference Finals got swept. So Golden State has the chance to be the first 7-seed to win an NBA title. Against the Rockets, Steve Kerr’s team became the seventh No. 7 seed in NBA history to knock off a No. 2 seed. The lowest-seeded team to ever win an NBA championship was the Huston Rockets of Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler in 1995 against the Orlando Magic of Shaquille O’Neil and Penny Hardaway.

Final Thoughts

I hope this series will be special for both Anthony Edwards and Stephen Curry. Of all the star players on both teams, Edwards is the only one who has not reached his ceiling yet. This series is a great opportunity for him to build in the Western Conference what Jayson Tatum has achieved in the Eastern Conference.

On the other side Curry, who is willing to cook any team that moves in his way, knows what it takes to be a champion. That mindset is there for the Warriors team coming from the NBA Play-In Tournament. They know they can get to the Western Conference Finals. The question will be: Who is going to set the tone for the series?
