Golden State Warriors Star Stephen Curry Bags Prestigious NBA Award for the First Time in Decorated Career
Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Stephen Curry just keeps on winning. This is despite the fact that the Golden State Warriors are no longer part of the NBA postseason after they were eliminated by the Sacramento Kings in a do-or-die Play-In game.

On Thursday, it was announced that Curry has been named the 2023-24 NBA Clutch Player of the Year — a title that the greatest shooter of all time has won for the first time in what has been a decorated 14-year career.

Golden State Warriors News: Stephen Curry Wins NBA Clutch Player of the Year Award

The NBA has started announcing the winners of this year’s individual awards. On Wednesday, Naz Reid of the Minnesota Timberwolves was named the Sixth Man of the Year, beating out Malik Monk and Bobby Portis.

It was the Clutch Player that was revealed on Thursday, and it comes as no surprise that Curry has bagged the prestigious individual honor after a tremendous 2023-24 campaign with the Warriors:

Curry is a four-time NBA champion, a two-time NBA MVP, a nine-time All-NBA point guard, a 10-time All-Star, and has won the scoring title twice in his career, among other things. He was also named as part of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, which is without a doubt one of the greatest honors that can be bestowed on a player.

Despite his glowing resume, however, this is the first time Curry has won the Clutch Player of the Year title, which means that he’s now added a new piece of silverware to his trophy cabinet.

Curry beat out the other two finalists for the title — DeMar DeRozan of the Chicago Bulls and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
