Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry praised Draymond Green after his teammate received a huge honor from the NBA.
Last Thursday, the league announced that Green is part of this season’s NBA All-Defensive First Team alongside Cleveland Cavaliers’ Evan Mobley, Atlanta Hawks’ Dyson Daniels, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Luguentz Dort, and Houston Rockets’ Amen Thompson.
“Been doing it your whole career but to be back on 1st team after a decade is legendary! 5 timer club. Congrats bro,” Curry posted on an Instagram story via Warriors Talk.
Green was a finalist for the Defensive Player of the Year award, coming up short behind Mobley and Daniels. The 35-year-old has been in nine NBA All-Defensive Teams in his career.
One-time NBA All-Star Jeff Teague believes the Golden State Warriors should hold on to Draymond Green for as long as possible. The four-time NBA champion will enter the third year of his four-year, $100 million contract in 2025-26, where he’ll earn roughly $25.9 million.
“Nobody is going to trade for Draymond Green… You’re not going to get the same value that Draymond brings to your team. Whatever you trade for — I don’t care if you get two young, promising players. They’re not going to have the same vibe with Steph, those two young, promising players,” Teague said on the Club 520 podcast.
“So it’s going to be basically over for Steph. Once Draymond leaves, that’s when you know Steph is about to retire,” he added.
