As NBA free agency begins on Monday night, there are many teams who are looking to upgrade their roster to compete for a championship next season.
Among those teams are the Golden State Warriors who are looking to upgrade their roster around their superstar trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green this offseason.
Of course, the main storyline around the Warriors entering free agency is what they are going to do with Jonathan Kuminga as he will be a restricted free agent.
While Golden State has a key decision to make regarding Kuminga, they also have some clear areas of their roster that they need to upgrade this summer, specifically the center position.
Because of this, the Warriors have been linked to many different centers who could be on the move in the offseason but another was linked to them on Monday.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Boston Celtics champion center Al Horford has emerged as a “top target” for the Warriors in free agency.
“League sources say veteran center Al Horford will be a top target for Golden State,” Stein wrote on Monday ahead of the official start of free agency.

With the Celtics making cuts to their roster, it is likely that they will allow Horford to walk in free agency and the Warriors have emerged as a potential destination after Stein’s report.
Of course, Horford is still playing at a high level despite being 39 years old and he was also a key part of Boston’s championship run two seasons ago.
Last season, the veteran center averaged 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 42.3% from the field and 36.3% from three.
Horford would give the Warriors a much-needed center who is a solid defender and would also help them space the floor even more due to his outside shooting.
Despite this, the Celtics could still look to bring Horford back for next season and there should be many other teams showing interest in adding the champion this summer.
