Gordon Hayward's wife calls out Thunder GM over recent comments

Robyn Hayward did not like what she heard this week from Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti.

Speaking during his end-of-season interview with reporters on Tuesday, Presti touched on the team’s trade-deadline acquisition of Gordon Hayward. Presti admitted the move did not work out and said that “I missed on that.”

Robyn, Gordon’s wife, reacted negatively to those remarks from Presti in a series of Instagram comments.

“Why trade for someone and not play them?” Robyn wrote. “Missed it by not integrating him.”

In another comment, Robyn added: “Before the trade Gordon told Sam [that] he didn’t think this trade made sense, so how can you miss when the player told you.”

Take a look at Robyn’s comments below.

Presti and the Thunder acquired the ex-All-Star Gordon at this year’s trade deadline in the hopes that he would be a strong veteran contributor off the bench for their otherwise young and inexperienced team. But Gordon ended up playing just 17.2 minutes per game in the regular season and a paltry 6.6 minutes a game during the playoffs as OKC prioritized second-unit minutes for Aaron Wiggins (25), Isaiah Joe (24) and Cason Wallace (20) instead.

The 34-year-old Gordon will now be a free agent this summer and is all but certain to leave Oklahoma City. Based on what he said during his own exit interview last week too, Gordon clearly agrees with how his wife is feeling.
