It’s the offseason, and Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic is having fun off the court. Even though Doncic has concentrated on maintaining his level of physical fitness, he still finds ways to relax in the summer. On Sunday, he was part of the judging committee of a dunk contest. Jumping over three people was one of the most difficult acrobatics performed by one of the dunkers. However, Doncic wasn’t impressed.

The Slovenian star isn’t the most athletic player in the NBA. However, he’s seen what professional athletes can do, as he’s one of the best facilitators in the league. While judging the contest, a participant showcased his aerial abilities by jumping over three people.

Later, he was asked about his thoughts on the dunk. Unimpressed, the Los Angeles Lakers star said this:

“You gotta put four people.”

Doncic seems to be interested in pushing the participant’s athletic boundaries.

Doncic signed a three-year extension with the Los Angeles Lakers

Unlike the Dallas Mavericks, the Los Angeles Lakers showed how committed they are to Doncic by signing him to a new contract. Over the weekend, the five-time All-Star signed a three-year, $165 million maximum contract extension.

On X, Doncic expressed his excitement to commit to the LA team.

“Being a Laker is an honor, and I wanted to be here,” the five-time All-NBA star said. “When you look up here, so many great names and what they’ve achieved. I want to be up there too one day.”

Doncic also revealed the news on his X account on Saturday.

“I just signed my extension with the Lakers. Excited to keep working to bring championships to LA and make Laker Nation proud. Grateful to the Lakers, my teammates and all the fans who’ve shown so much love since day one. This is just the beginning.

Last season, the world was stunned when the Lakers acquired Doncic from the Mavericks. Many thought the star guard would spend his entire career with one team. He was traded by the Dallas organization, though, because they wanted to take a different approach.

The trade ended his seven-year stay with the Mavericks. He was a five-time All-Star with the team and led them to the NBA Finals in 2024. It was the first time the franchise was close to winning a championship since the 2010-11 season with Dirk Nowitzki.

But they viewed Anthony Davis as a far more important piece to their championship bid, which is why they traded Doncic away.
