Gradey Dick Says He Put On Nine Pounds Of Muscle

Gradey Dick has put on some muscle this summer.

The 20-year-old told the media after the Raptors first Summer League game that he’s added 9 pounds of muscle.

Dick weighed in at 205 pounds after the season ended and now he’s 214 pounds, via TSN’s Josh Lewenberg:

“I think I was about like 205 after the season, after a long season and last week I was like 214 so probably the heaviest I’ve been so I mean I feel good, I feel great.”

Dick got off to a great start in Summer League as the Raptors defeated the Thunder 94-69.

Dick led the Raptors in scoring with 18 points. He also added 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. He looked a lot more comfortable. Dick struggled from the field and didn’t hit a three-pointer (0-4) but he showcased other parts of his game. Dick looked sharper defensively, had improved playmaking skills, put the ball on the floor and was able to finish through contact.

Dick showed that he can be more than just a one-dimensional player.

Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic talked how he wants to see Dick get more involved in some on ball action. Also, he wants to see him handle the ball a little bit more in the pick and roll. The hope is that Dick can continue to add to his game to compliment his shooting.

The sophomore player is poised to become the Raptors starting shooting guard on opening night, especially if he continues to have a strong Summer League showing.

Dick and the Raptors will be back in Summer League action tonight against the Denver Nuggets.

Masai Ujiri shares update on Sasha Vezenkov

The Toronto Raptors will be coming to a decision soon regarding Sasha Vezenkov.

There has been speculation that the 28-year-old will be joining Olympiacos, but he is still under contract with Toronto.

If the Raptors and Vezenkov work toward a buyout, it would allow him to leave for Europe.

Raptors president Masai Ujiri shared an update on Vezenkov’s future with the team during Toronto’s first Summer League game against the Thunder.
