Grading Kevin Durant's Season With Suns Through NBA All-Star Break

This season, simply, has been full of disappointment for the Phoenix Suns. Sitting at 26-28 and in 11th place in the Western Conference, the Suns have had their fair share of drama both on and off the court.

The Suns were long expected to trade Bradley Beal in a deal for Jimmy Butler but were unable to get him to waive his no-trade clause. As the trade deadline drew closer, it was revealed that the Suns were entertaining calls regarding Kevin Durant, but the team was unable to move any of its stars.

As the Suns enter the All-Star Break, Inside the Suns is grading Durant's performance.

Keeping in mind that he is 36 years old and has been in the league for 18 seasons now, it's remarkable that he has remained one of the very best players in the league. He is averaging 27.3 points, 4.2 assists, and six rebounds, and is shooting 40.4 percent from 3-point range, which is better than his career average of 38.8 percent.

His individual stats are amazing, but as the best player on a team, the lack of success is glaring. He does have to take some responsibility for the lackluster season the Suns are having, but none of the drama has been his fault and he seems to have taken the trade deadline drama, for the most part, in stride.

Had Durant and Devin Booker been surrounded by solid role players instead of a third star and no depth, this Phoenix team could be having a very different season. That makes it incredibly hard to "grade" Durant's individual season.

Due to his longevity and newfound (it would seem) maturity, we are giving Durant a solid B+, with the main knock being the lack of team success.
