Dillon Brooks said he wouldn't mind playing LeBron James. The Grizzlies guard is getting his wish.
"I wouldn't mind playing LeBron in a 7 game series. The legacy is there… first time back in the playoffs, knock him out right away in the 1st round”

Brooks told reporters he didn't dislike the Lakers, but wanted the challenge of going up against James even before the Lakers advanced to the playoffs with their overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
"I don't really dislike nobody," Brooks said. "I wouldn't mind playing LeBron in a seven-game series."
When asked why, Brooks explained, "The legacy is there … first time back in the playoffs, knock him out right away in the 1st round. They're gonna test us good. They've got good pieces, good players ... it'll be a good first round matchup for us.”
People could have assumed Brooks disliked the Lakers after he almost started a fight yelling at Lakers fan Shannon Sharpe on the sidelines.

But Brooks acts like this towards every team in the league! He and his Grizzlies dynasty might have special animus for Draymond Green and the Warriors, but other than that, Brooks simply antagonizes everyone. Including James, who he'll likely spend some time guarding during the first-round series, which starts Sunday in Memphis.
James didn't take Brooks' comments with disrespect. When asked about the Grizzlies starters, James said, "Dillon Brooks ... you can't disrespect him because he makes shots." Which is honestly quite generous, since Brooks shot 32.6% from three-point range this year.
Brooks is one of the biggest talkers in the league. We'll see if he minds playing James in a few games.
