Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant threw his support behind Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry in the NBA MVP discussion after their play-in tournament battle on Friday night.
Morant and the Grizzlies bounced Curry and the Warriors from playoff contention with a 117-112 overtime win to secure the Western Conference's No. 8 seed. After the game, the 2019-20 Rookie of the Year praised Curry via social media:
definitely my fav matchup by far now give him dat MVP award ‼️ https://t.co/XQFunzQ796

Curry has received plenty of support in the MVP race in recent weeks. Even Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James said the two-time MVP should win his third this year.
It's no surprise that many of the NBA's biggest stars have thrown their support behind Curry, who recently became the oldest player to secure the scoring title since Michael Jordan in 1997-98.
The 33-year-old averaged 32 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game during the regular season while shooting 48.2% from the field and 42.1% from deep. It was his best season since the 2015-16 campaign.
