Despite being 38-22, the Memphis Grizzlies are currently in a slump as they won just three of their last nine games. Because of this, they have dropped to the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference and are just one game ahead of the Houston Rockets. After it seemed likely that they were guaranteed a top seed in the West, they are now in serious danger of missing out on home-court advantage.
After losing back-to-back games, including a loss at home to the San Antonio Spurs without Victor Wembanyama, the Grizzlies are hoping to get things back on track. Their next opportunity to do so is on Monday night when they host the Atlanta Hawks.
Ahead of their game against the Hawks, the Grizzlies made an announcement that fans may have interest in.
Rookie Yuki Kawamura quickly became a fan favorite in Memphis over the summer. The 5-foot-8 guard provides a lot of potential and intrigue. However, he is officially out for the Grizzlies' matchup against the Hawks, according to their injury report.

Kawmura only appeared in three games for the Grizzlies in February, but he is making his presence felt in the G League. Through 20 games with the Memphis Hustle, the Japanese native is averaging 12.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 9.1 assists, and 1.5 steals.
It is unlikely that Kawamura will play a big role with the Grizzlies this season, but he is still a name to keep an eye on for the foreseeable future as a player who could become a regular contributor down the line.
