The Memphis Grizzlies are signing free agent guard Ty Jerome to a three-year, $28 million contract, per Shams Charania of ESPN. The last year of the deal comes with a player option.

Jerome has been rumored to part ways with the Cleveland Cavaliers after the team traded for Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball over the weekend.

Earlier reports suggested that Jerome would leave for the Grizzlies. He had also been linked to the Utah Jazz and Charlotte Hornets.

“There was a growing anticipation as 6 PM ET approached that Memphis is indeed poised to secure a commitment from the in-demand Ty Jerome,” wrote Marc Stein and Jake Fischer of The Stein Line

Jerome averaged 12.5 points for the Cavaliers last season while shooting 51.6% from the field, 43.9% from beyond the arc and 87.2% from the foul line. He made $2.6 million on his way to being a Sixth Man of the Year candidate.

Jerome has played for the Phoenix Suns, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors and Cavaliers. He has averaged 8.7 points for his career.

Along with signing Jerome, Memphis reportedly agreed to new deals with Jaren Jackson Jr.Santi Aldama, and Cam Spencer.

Jerome’s new deal will come out of the room exception, which is worth about $27.7 million over three seasons.
