There's a lot of anticipation about what Giannis Antetokounmpo will decide when it comes to his future with the Milwaukee Bucks. Some believe Antetokounmpo will request a trade this summer. However, there are a few who think he'll continue his career playing for the team that drafted him.
A report from Shams Charania of ESPN reveals that the Bucks star is open to exploring other teams. Since winning the championship in 2021, Milwaukee has struggled to find notable success. Over the past three playoffs, the Antetokounmpo-led team has suffered three straight first-round eliminations.
With the lack of success, there's a belief that Antetokounmpo could force his way out of Milwaukee.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst recently had a deep dive on the nine-time All-Star's upcoming busy summer. According to his report, there's a "growing possibility" that Antetokounmpo is leaning in one direction, which is for him to leave the Bucks.
"And I do think, by the way, like I may not have the best information on this, I'm not saying that I do, I don't think that Giannis has 100% said I'm out of Milwaukee yet... Do I think that there's a growing possibility that that's that he is going to want out? I do. And I think that the league does--- the league has been watching this for a year," the NBA insider said.
One factor would be the lack of help he'll likely have next season. His co-star, Damian Lillard, suffered a devastating Achilles injury. The team's supporting cast of Brook Lopez, Gary Trent Jr. and Taurean Prince are unrestricted free agents.
Also, Bobby Portis Jr., Pat Connaughton and Kevin Porter Jr. have player options they have to decide whether they exercise them or not.
Charania also reported that Antetokounmpo and the Bucks are expected to meet this offseason. It will likely determine the future for both parties.
