It's official. The Atlanta Hawks announced the completion of their blockbuster three-team trade with the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets on Monday.

In the deal, the Hawks acquired forward Kristaps Porzingis. Atlanta agreed to send fellow forward Georges Niang and a 2031 second-round pick to Boston for the center.

“Kristaps is a unique and versatile talent with championship pedigree," Hawks general manager Onsi Saleh said in a released statement. "His ability to stretch the floor, protect the rim, and make plays on both ends adds another dimension to our team.

Meanwhile, the Hawks shipped guard Terance Mann and the No. 22 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft to the Nets while Brooklyn sent cash considerations to Boston.

With Porzingis, the Hawks landed the No. 4 pick from the 2015 NBA Draft and a 2017-18 All-Star forward.

Last season, Porzingis averaged 19.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in 42 contests with Boston. Before 2024-25, Porzingis posted at least 19 points per game in six consecutive seasons.

"We are fortunate to add a player of his caliber to our group," added Saleh.

"We’d also like to thank Terance and Georges for their contributions last season and wish them the best.”

Porzingis spent the first four seasons of his career with the New York Knicks after the team drafted him fourth overall. Beginning in 2019, he spent the next four seasons with the Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards.

The Celtics acquired Porzingis from the Wizards in June 2023. The forward helped Boston win the NBA championship during the 2023-24 campaign.

This was the third time Porzingis has been traded in his NBA career. Dallas sent the forward to Washington amid the 2021-22 season.

In 501 NBA games, Porzingis has averaged 19.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while shooting 46.1% from the field.
