Hawks’ Caris LeVert Expected To Draw Interest From Pistons, Nets

The Hawks would like to keep free agent wing Caris LeVert but they’re well aware that he will be drawing outside interest.

Two of those teams are believed to be the Pistons and Nets, sources told Hoops Wire. LeVert, 30, has connections to both.

For starters, he played for Pistons coach J.B. Bickerstaff during their run with the Cavaliers. He also began his career with Brooklyn (2016-20).

As for Detroit, much depends on what happens with the team’s other veteran free agents, including Sixth Man of the Year candidate Malik Beasley and Tim Hardaway Jr. It’s not yet known which direction the Pistons will go after a pleasant surprise of a season.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn is expected to pursue other higher-profile free agents before going after the likes of LeVert or potentially Cavs guard Ty Jerome.

So most in the know seem to believe LeVert and the Hawks will reunite after he tests the market. He played well in Atlanta after the February trade from Cleveland, averaging 14.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists, shooting 48 percent from the field, in 26 games with the Hawks.
