Renowned NBA trainer Chris Brickley has high hopes for Bronny James this year after an up-and-down rookie campaign with the Los Angeles Lakers last season.
Speaking at Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM, Brickley asked the fans to tone down their criticism of the Los Angeles Lakers guard because of what he had been through in the past few years.
“It’s f***ed up because at the end of the day, he didn’t choose to be LeBron’s son. He’s literally like a great kid, and you can tell that it’s a sore spot for the family. I wouldn’t want someone to mess with my kid, none of you guys would, but Bronny’s actually really good. He’s gonna peak in a year or two,” Brickley said about James.
“For sure, for sure, because people don’t understand that before his freshman year, he had the heart stuff. I think he had a seizure or he passed out, something major. So he couldn’t play half the season. So yeah, he’s an NBA player,” he added.
Luka Doncic has been praised for slimming down this offseason, and Los Angeles Lakers assistant Greg St. Jean believes that the Slovenian international has drawn inspiration from co-star LeBron James.
“You know what? I always find this — iron sharpens iron. When you’re around really good players, it’s just like when you’re a coach, and you’re around a really good coach. You can’t help but be motivated to continue to get better at your craft,” St. Jean explained via Pijus Sapetka of BasketNews.
“I think Luka’s learned a little bit from every great player he’s been around. And I know he’s always looked up to LeBron. He’s always been somebody he’s really admired. So I think having those two together is obviously motivating. I think it’s two-way motivating as well. I don’t think it’s just a one-way street,” he added.
