The Detroit Pistons took Ron Holland with the fifth overall pick in last year’s NBA Draft, and the former G League Ignite swingman apparently left a lasting impression on the team during his rookie season.

Among those who have become a fan of Holland is forward Ausar Thompson, who spoke in detail about how he won over him and his teammates on and off the court last season.

“Even like Ron. I feel like he helped change the culture,” Thompson said about Holland. “Because he came in and turn the music on, blast the music, play music. We say how the vets came in and changed stuff, which they definitely did, it’s not just the vets it’s everybody.”

Holland had a limited role as a rookie. He played 81 regular season games for the Detroit Pistons, having averaged 6.4 points and 2.7 rebounds on 47.4 percent shooting from the field in 15.6 minutes per game.

Detroit Pistons could entertain trade offers involving Jaden Ivey, per insider

ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel recently revealed that the Detroit Pistons could be open to moving Jaden Ivey, who was limited last season after sustaining a broken left fibula. He averaged a career-high 17.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.0 assists on 46.0 percent shooting from the field across 30 regular season games before he got hurt.

“Ivey’s situation with the Pistons is unique. Despite internal confidence existing and the Pistons continuing to shut down speculation of Ivey being on the trade block, sources outside the organization have described the fourth-year guard’s status as ‘open for interpretation’,” Siegel wrote.

“Now that they signed Caris LeVert and Duncan Robinson in free agency, has Ivey become more expendable to Detroit? His situation is worth keeping an eye on in Detroit, especially if an extension isn’t agreed to before the season begins,” he added.
