The Miami Heat might be saving All-Star forward Bam Adebayo from himself.
After reports emerged that the 23-year-old intended to take the court for Game 2 of the NBA Finals versus the Los Angeles Lakers despite carrying a shoulder injury, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted that Adebayo won't play on Friday and, instead, will attempt to get right for Sunday's Game 3.
Adebayo aggravated his left shoulder in the third quarter of Wednesday's Game 1 which Los Angeles won 116-98. He scored eight points in 21 minutes of action.
Adebayo averaged 21.8 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 5.2 assists against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.
