Heat considering bring back injured guard

Miami didn't want to bring back Tyler Herro and screw up their momentum. Now that the momentum is gone, he may return for Game 5.

Herro broke his hand in Miami's very first playoff game against the Milwaukee Bucks and has been out since. The Heat medical staff cleared him for basketball activities three weeks ago, but by Game 4, Herro still hadn't been doing full-contact practices.

Now he's planning to exchange his bucket hat for a Heat jersey for Game 5, as his team faces elimination in Denver, down 3-1.

There was an idea that Herro's absence had helped the Heat focus on defense in the playoffs. It meant more minutes for Gabe Vincent, Caleb Martin and Max Strus. The Heat seemingly didn't need Herro's shooting, as they made 45 percent of their three-pointers against the Bucks, and 43.4 percent against the Celtics.

They're shooting a respectable 36.6 percent from deep in the Finals, but the Heat offense has been bogged down, lacking shot creation apart from Jimmy Butler. Strus has gone scoreless in two games and made just one shot in another, while Martin has also struggled to score. The Nuggets held the Heat under 100 points in both games in Miami.

There's no good way to attack Nikola Jokic and the powerhouse Nuggets, but at the very least, Miami needs to crack the century mark. Herro can get his own shot and he can get to the line. It's worth a try to make Denver do something different in this series. Because what they are doing is dominating.
