Could Kyle Lowry end up in Miami? Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Heat could make move for Raptors' Kyle Lowry before NBA trade deadline?

The Miami Heat are looking to add a few players ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline.

According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, the Heat "covet" Toronto Raptors veteran Kyle Lowry. Miami is also high on LaMarcus Aldridge's list of destinations if the San Antonio Spurs buy him out.

Lowry is still playing at a high level for the Raptors, averaging 17.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game while shooting 43.9% from the field and 39.3% from deep. However, the Raptors are reportedly telling teams interested in Lowry that they do not plan to trade him, so it could be difficult for the Heat to acquire him.

Still, Miami has some young assets they could offer Toronto in return for the 14-year veteran, including Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn.

Aldridge, meanwhile, is averaging 13.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 21 games with the Spurs this season while shooting 46.4% from the field and 36% from deep. Aldridge and the Spurs mutually agreed to end their six-year marriage earlier this month.

It could also be difficult for Miami to acquire the 35-year-old, who is also drawing interest from the Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers, among others.
