The Miami Heat will be down their starting point guard for the fifth time this postseason when they host the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Tuesday night.
#PHIvsMIA INJURY UPDATE: Kyle Lowry (hamstring) has been ruled out of tonight’s Game 5 vs the Sixers.
— Miami HEAT (@MiamiHEAT) May 10, 2022
Lowry played in the first three games of the Heat's first-round series win against the Atlanta Hawks, averaging 8.3 points, 5.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds, before missing the final two contests vs. Atlanta with his hamstring ailment. Playing in his first season in South Beach, Lowry sat out the first two games against Philadelphia — which the Heat won by a combined 30 points — and returned for the last couple of bouts, which the Sixers won by a combined 28 points.
The six-time All-Star has struggled mightily in the Eastern Conference semis, scoring just six points on three-for-14 shooting and missing all eight of his three-point attempts.
Game 5 is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, with Game 6 taking place at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday back in Philadelphia.
