Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs after five games in the first round against the Pacers. Following that series, a report claiming Giannis could consider a move away from the Bucks flipped his offseason plans upside down.

And while several sources claim that the rumors were not true and he plans to stay with the Bucks, he openly considered a potential career change altogether in this offseason. He recently went live on TikTok with his wife, Mariah Riddlespriger, and in a hilarious conversation, ended up revealing that he is considering becoming a Twitch streamer like Kai Cenat and iShowSpeed.

Giannis: “People are out here asking me questions.”

Mariah: “This is what streamers do, right?”

Giannis: “Should I start streaming?”

Mariah: “Oh god no. Please no.”

Giannis: “iShowSpeed, Kai Cenat, man, help a brother out!”

Mariah: “Please let’s not.”

Giannis: “Why not?”

Mariah: “Because we have four kids and a lot of other responsibilities.”

Giannis: “I’ve seen them how they do it. They’re actually really good at it.”

Mariah: “I’m sure.”

Giannis: “Engaging, they’re very good.”

Mariah: “I’m very sure. I’m just saying it’s just not right for you.”

Giannis: “Why is that not right for me?”

Mariah: “Because it’s just—”

Giannis: “Do you know how much money they make?”

Mariah: “I think you’re okay.”

Giannis: “No! They make a lot of money, baby.”

Mariah: “Please. Just no. We’re good.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo was recently named among the highest-earning athletes in all sports. He signed a $175.36 million extension with the Bucks last season and is expecting a $54.1 million salary for next season. With an expected net worth presently at about $70 million, Giannis Antetokounmpo should ideally not be in any need of money.

However, three players in the NBA are earning manifolds more than Giannis Antetokounmpo through their endorsements and other sources of income: Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant. Two of whom are billionaires: Curry and James. Therefore, it is likely that while the Antetokounmpo family may have enough to fulfill their needs, Antetokounmpo sees a higher income as an indicator of his success in his prime years and wants to maximize it at this point.

Several other NBA players like Karl-Anthony Towns, Kyrie Irving, Josh Hart, and De'Aaron Fox are also into streaming. Especially in the offseason when they have a lot more time on their hands, these players like to indulge in streaming either through gaming or just engaging with the fan comments.
