As of this writing, the Golden State Warriors remain the only NBA team without a key player addition this summer, but they may be closing in on one of their top targets.
Golden State has been linked with a move to sign free agent Al Horford, and Stephen Curry seems on board with the idea of adding the one-time NBA champion to their roster.
“He’s a champion, great player. When…if, when all that stuff happens, I’ll talk about it,” Curry said about Horford via The Athletic’s Anthony Slater.
It has been rumored that the Golden State Warriors already have a “handshake deal” to sign Horford, but both sides are probably still working out the fine details of the contract before making it official.
Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry was also asked when he’ll retire from basketball after turning 37 last March. The four-time NBA champion has two years left on his contract, where he’ll earn at least $59 million in annual salary.
“I don’t know. I’m just taking it two years at a time. That’s what I have left on my contract right now,” Curry said via The Athletic’s Anthony Slater.
Curry suffered a hamstring injury during the 2025 playoffs, which derailed Golden State’s plan of making a deep run. He will look to bounce back and stay healthy for the 2025-26 campaign.
