The Detroit Pistons notched a 114-103 home win against the Utah Jazz to improve to a 6-2 record. Five of their players scored in double digits, with their young stars leading the way.

Cade Cunningham had 31 points, three rebounds, and 10 assists on 13-for-28 shooting from the field, which was expected. On the other hand, Jalen Duren raised eyebrows with his 22-point, 22-rebound double-double.

“(It’s) him understanding what we need from him. The work he did over the summer not just on his game but his body, how he’s taking care of himself. He’s always been talented, he’s always been skilled, but now he has the confidence to match the talent and skill,” Detroit Pistons coach said of Duren via Omari Sankofa II of The Detroit Free Press.

“I just try to be aggressive. We couldn’t really get nothing going, we had a lot of low energy. I tried to be the guy to spark something tonight. Thankfully, it did. Deuce came alive in the fourth for us. I think it was a full team effort to get the job done today,” Duren added.

Detroit Pistons News: Cade Cunningham takes over late in the game again

After a relatively slow start in the first three quarters, Cade Cunningham found his rhythm late, as he scored 19 of his 31 points in the final period. His scoring kept the Utah Jazz at bay down the stretch.

“I knew I was going to continue to be aggressive. I felt like I missed a few 3s that I should’ve made. A lot of stuff just was teasing me a little bit not going in. I knew I was going to be aggressive and live with the result,” Cunningham said.

The Detroit Pistons are keen to extend their winning streak to five games when they visit the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.
