High-scoring Hawks roll to comfortable win over Wizards
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Dejounte Murray continued his hot scoring with 24 points -- one of three Atlanta players with 20-plus points -- as the Hawks extended their winning streak to three games with a 130-121 victory over the visiting Washington Wizards on Wednesday.

Murray, who matched his career high with 41 points on Monday, shot 10-for-15 from the field and 3-for-5 from 3 point range. He added eight assists and four rebounds and one steal.

Atlanta has won four straight against Washington and extended its franchise-record streak of 100-plus point games to 62 games, the longest active run in the NBA.

The Hawks also got 23 points and 10 assists from Trae Young, who had been listed as questionable due to right Achilles inflammation but was able to play 35 minutes. Young now has at least five assists in 112 straight games, matching Deron Williams for the sixth-longest streak in NBA history.

De'Andre Hunter added 23 points and seven rebounds for the Hawks, who had seven players score double figures.

Washington was led by Kyle Kuzma with 25 points, nine rebounds and six assists, Deni Avdija with a season-high 22 points, and Jordan Poole with 13 points.

Washington got off to a quick start and led 30-25 after one quarter thanks to 10 points by Poole. The Wizards extended their lead to 37-27 on a bucket by Kuzma with 10 minutes left in the half.

The Hawks used a 10-0 run to move in front 46-44 on a basket by Murray, who later gave Atlanta a 57-48 lead on a 3-pointer with 2:00 left in the second quarter. Atlanta had a 59-51 lead at halftime.

The Hawks continued to pour it on and led 93-69 when Young made one of two free throws late in the third quarter. Atlanta led 99-82 entering the fourth.

The Wizards, who fell for the third time in four games, were without center Daniel Gafford (left ankle sprain) for the second straight game and gave Mike Muscala his first start. Muscala finished with seven points and four rebounds.
