Hoosiers in the Pros: Trayce Jackson-Davis' Block, Dunk Sequence Highlights Special Night
Mandatory Credit: D. Ross Cameron-USA TODAY Sports

Trayce Jackson-Davis accomplished something on Friday night that no other Golden State rookie had done in over a decade. The former Indiana star scored 10 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, becoming the first Warriors player to record that stat line since Anthony Randolph in 2009.

It still might not have been the highlight of the night for the rookie center. Jackson-Davis received a ton of attention after an impressive sequence in the third quarter of Friday's 129-118 win over Washington.

Jackson-Davis blocked a layup attempt by Landry Shamet, collected the rebound and got the Warriors into transition. On the other end of the floor, the former Hoosier set a screen for Chris Paul, who then set up Jackson-Davis for an easy alley-oop.

It's obviously still early in his NBA career, but Jackson-Davis is proving he can do it all on both ends of the court. He's starting to look like the steal of the 2023 NBA Draft.

"I was very surprised, honestly," Jackson-Davis said, fielding a question about slipping to No. 57 in the draft. "I felt like my senior year in college I added a lot to my game. The passing, the blocking shots, rebounding at a high level, finishing. Basically everything.

To go along with his 10 points and 15 boards, Jackson-Davis also finished the game with three assists and a block. Friday's performance against the Wizards marked his second straight double-double, also getting one in Tuesday's overtime win over Boston.

Jackson-Davis finished that contest with 10 points and 13 rebounds in 29 minutes. He also had three blocks and an assist, helping the Warriors to a 132-126 victory over the Celtics.

After his performance against Boston, Kerr said the rookie has earned the right to see more minutes.

"You can see the impact he makes. So, he's gonna play," Kerr said. "He's gonna be in the lineup ... meaning he's going to be in the rotation."

Kerr has given Jackson-Davis a significant bump in minutes over the last three games. It doesn't seem like a coincidence that the Warriors are 3-0 in that stretch.

Jackson-Davis and the Warriors are back in action tonight (Saturday, Dec. 23) against the Trail Blazers. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
