Houston Rockets Legend Hakeem Olajuwon Goes Viral After Intense Workout Video at Age 61

Hakeem Olajuwon is regarded as one of the best ever to play in the NBA and even at age 61, the Houston Rockets legend can still ball. A recent video of Olajuwon teaching some drills to a couple of young basketball players at John Lucas Enterprises.

From the video alone, it is easy to tell that Olajuwon still has some of his moves intact. He may be slower these days and the explosiveness is not what it used to be, but the footwork remains as crisp as ever. After all these years, watching Olajuwon move on the court is still seeing poetry in motion.

Not everyone can be as smooth on the court like a prime Olajuwon, but learning from one of the greats is a golden privilege.

During an incredible career in the NBA that started in the 1984-85 season and ended in the 2001-02 campaign, Olajuwon averaged 21.8 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 3.1 blocks across a total of 1,238 games. He played all but one of his 18 seasons in the league with the Rockets.

His only season wearing non-Rockets threads was his last one in the league when he suited up for 61 games with the Toronto Raptors in the 2001-02 campaign. Over his career, Olajuwon led the Rockets to two NBA titles in 1994 and 1995, won the 1994 Most Valuable Player award, and had 12 NBA All-Star appearances. He was also a two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year winner and a two-time NBA Finals MVP.
