It's all champagne and smiles with the Indiana Pacers. After a rough start to the 2024-25 season, the Pacers sit one loss behind the fourth seed, the coveted home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
The Pacers wouldn't have recovered from such a slow start without the efforts of Pascal Siakam. Such as life, hard work paid off for Siakam, leading to Rick Carlisle and the Pacers celebrating his NBA accolade.
Siakam earned his third All-Star selection, as TNT's Charles Barkley announced on Thursday.
In his first full season with the Pacers, Siakam seized the opportunity to lead the young players on the roster. At 30, Siakam begins the new era of his career as a star, showcasing why the Pacers made the blockbuster trade during the 2023-24 season.
Siakam's 20 points and career-high 41 percent 3-point average lead the Pacers and supplemented their star guard Tyrese Haliburton's, as he experienced a regression from the previous season in which he earned All-NBA honors.
As Siakam practiced during the offseason and continued to showcase during the 2024-25 season, the team stood by their star's side.
When the All-Star reserves were announced, Carlisle and other franchise members gathered around Siakam to celebrate their on-court leader.
Carlisle said it best as he toasted Siakam with a glass of champagne, "Pacer nation, here's to our 2025 NBA All-Star, Pascal Siakam!"
The Pacers don't play until Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks, giving the Siakam-led team ample time to recover from their bubbly celebration.
