LeBron James’ reaction to Caitlin Clark photographing him has gone viral, with the moment coming during a recent LA Lakers clash against the Indiana Pacers.
The interaction took place on March 25, when Clark worked as a courtside photographer during the Lakers’ 137-130 win in Indianapolis.
It added a unique crossover between two of basketball’s biggest names. Clark, despite her own rising status, found herself in a fan moment.
But LeBron’s response made the story even more memorable.
During the Lakers vs Pacers game, where she was shooting courtside, Clark shared her excitement in a separate appearance on NBC.
“The pictures of the LeBron I took, did you guys see? [LeBron’s picture is shown] That was my greatest shot. I need to print it out and get him to sign it for me. The King, that’s my GOAT,” Clark said.
Clark had been working as a credentialed photographer for the Pacers during the game, capturing multiple images of LeBron, including moments during live play and stoppages.
The Lakers star finished that night with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists, narrowly missing a triple-double in the win. The combination of her admiration and the setting made the clip instantly relatable.
Clark was then asked whether players behave differently when they recognise her, leading to a surprising answer.
“I swear we made eye contact, so I set down the camera, and I smiled at him, and he just looked at me with a straight face. He didn’t even see me, but the photos turned out well,” Clark added.
The moment added humor to the interaction. While Clark thought there was a connection, LeBron remained locked in on the game environment.
That contrast is what made the clip resonate. It showed both admiration from Clark and the intense focus that still defines LeBron in-game.
In the end, the result worked out perfectly for her. The photos went viral, and the story quickly spread across the basketball world.
