Luka Doncic has been having a stellar season with the Los Angeles Lakers thus far.

Luka Doncic is coming off a huge 37-point outing against the Utah Jazz where he also added 10 assists and 5 rebounds.

The 26-year-old currently leads the league in points per game, scoring 34.6 points per contest.

He has put himself in the MVP conversation among some of the other game’s best like Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Do you think this will be LeBron James’ final season?

Luka Doncic has been a 30+ point machine

Doncic has been one of the best superstars in the NBA for a while now. He has been able to put up 30+ point games at a ridiculous frequency, which is why he’s regarded as one of the best scorers ever.

Since 2023, Doncic has the most 30+ point games during the regular season and playoffs combined.

He has 4 more than Gilgeous-Alexander, 33 more than Giannis Antetokounmpo and 51 more than Jokic.

Doncic has played six more games than Gilgeous-Alexander, which means their ratio of games played to 30+ point games is exactly equal.

Yet the difference-maker is that Doncic has played more due to a lengthier playoff run in 2024, where his Mavericks defeated Gilgeous-Alexander’s Thunder.

Scoring Frequency: Games Played Per 30+ Point Game (Last 2.5 Seasons)

Player Total Games Played (RS + PO) Total 30+ Point Games (RS + PO) **Ratio (Total GP / 30+ Game)**
Luka Doncic 191 129 1.48
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 185 125 1.48
Giannis Antetokounmpo 182 96 1.90
Nikola Jokic 201 78 2.58

Luka Doncic is having the best scoring season of his career thus far

Doncic is one of the biggest reasons why the Lakers have gotten out to a hot start.

He has missed 4 games this season, but in the 11 games he has suited up for the Los Angeles Lakers, he has scored the basketball at will.

Doncic is having the best scoring season of his career thus far. The only other scoring season that comes close to this one is 2023-24 with the Dallas Mavericks. That season is regarded as the best year of Doncic’s career, where he nearly averaged a triple-double.

Doncic’s numbers aren’t expected to go down even with LeBron James back in the lineup, so he will likely continue this impressive pace.
