NBA icon Michael Jordan has been one of the most successful basketball players on the court. His private life has been no less successful, and Jordan is a happily married man. But exactly how many times has Michael Jordan been married and how much do we know about his wives?

Jordan has been married twice, once to Juanita Vanoy in 1989 and later to Yvette Prieto in 2013. His first marriage lasted 17 years and the couple was blessed with three children – Jeffery, Marcus and Jasmine. After staying as a family until 2006, Jordan and Vanoy split in 2006.

Years after his divorce from his first wife, Michael Jordan met Yvette Prieto and proposed to her in 2011. Their wedding in 2013 was a grand spectacle and the couple have since been happily married. Jordan and Prieto have two daughters – Ysabel and Victoria.

Michael Jordan’s first wife Juanita Vanoy

Born June 13, 1959, Juanita Vanoy grew up in Chicago. She worked as a tax officer in Illinois and would eventually meet Michael Jordan in a party after an NBA game.

It was there that the two first conversed and started dating in 1987. Their courtship lasted two years and Michael Jordan married Vanoy in 1989.

Jordan has time and again spoken highly of Vanoy and acknowledges her role in upbringing all three of their children right.

After 17 years of their marriage, the couple filed for divorce and eventually split in 2006. Jordan’s $168 million divorce settlement remains one of the most expensive in the history of sports.

A few years after his divorce from Juniata Vanoy, Jordan met America/Cuban model Yvette Prieto. Sparks flew between the couple, and the two formed a great friendship over time.

Their friendship would soon blossom into something much more beautiful, and Jordan eventually proposed to her in 2011.

Born March 26, 1979, Yvette Prieto was a professional model who had featured in quite a few fashion lines. During their courtship, Jordan and Prieto lived together from 2009 on. Their grand wedding reportedly cost $10 million, and many high-profile celebrities attended the event.

Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto are blessed with twin daughters, Ysabel and Victoria, born in 2014. The family lives in their Florida mansion where Jordan and Prieto are parenting their two children together. For a celebrity of Jordan’s caliber, MJ has surely managed to keep his personal life low-key.
