The Sacramento Kings still want Jonathan Kuminga in a trade, but they do not want to overpay. Kuminga is a fantastic talent, but the Kings do not hold him in the highest regard.
Jonathan Kuminga has been in limbo with the Golden State Warriors for a long while. He is a tremendous player with outstanding physical traits. Unfortunately, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr does not appear to be a big fan of him.
With the Warriors going all-in on Stephen Curry’s timeline, Kuminga is not the right player for the team. He could have served as a building block, but the Warriors are no longer operating on a future timeline. That is evident in the interest in veteran big man Al Horford.
Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green are all older players, and they will be the focal points of this team. Shedding a young and promising player like Kuminga for good value could be the right move. However, finding the right suitor has been challenging, with the Sacramento Kings being the best candidate.
As one of the promising young wing players in the league, Kuminga deserves more opportunities. The Kings can provide him with that, as he and Keegan Murray can form a fearsome wing duo. The Kings are willing to get Kuminga, but his price might be too steep.
The Warriors want a sign-and-trade package that involves Malik Monk and Devin Carter. For the Kings, that is too high an asking price, as Kuminga’s situation is messy. Everyone knows the Warriors want to trade him, so they don’t have that kind of leverage.
According to Matt George, a Kings insider, the Kings are okay with bringing the same roster into the season.
That makes the Warriors’ plans even tougher to execute, as they are not getting many suitors for Kuminga.
Still haven’t seen another team besides the Kings seriously pursuing Kuminga https://t.co/bJOTY8MTe9

Given that other teams are not pursuing Kuminga, the Kings might get their way in this transaction. Golden State wants to part ways with Kuminga and get players in return. The Kings might be the best option, as the two teams can iron out a deal soon.
No matter where he ends up, Kuminga is ready to prove himself. He is only 22, so he has plenty of time to establish himself in the NBA. The Kings are a great team where he can shine, but the Warriors must be willing to deal.
Mike Dunleavy and the rest of the Warriors front office have a tough task with this Kuminga deal. It is a tough time to be a restricted free agent, but a sign-and-trade is hard to pass up. Kuminga can get his wish to play elsewhere, where opportunities are available.

The Warriors need a good package in return, but it will be tough for them to push the envelope. The Kings are willing to stick with the current roster without Kuminga. They would prefer to get the 22-year-old, but the Warriors must be willing to budge.
Despite all these trade rumors, Kuminga is working hard behind the scenes. He is ready to play basketball wherever he is. The offseason is messy for the Warriors, but a Kuminga trade is significant.
