'I Think That’s Very Possible' – Detroit Pistons’ Cade Cunningham Gets 100% Real on Being Mentioned in the MVP Conversations

After securing his first NBA All-Star selection and playoff appearance last season, the league MVP award could be up next for Detroit Pistons star Cade Cunningham.

Speaking to ESPN’s Vincent Goodwill, Cunningham reiterated that winning the league MVP award is not his main focus this season. However, he doesn’t mind winning it if it means leading the Detroit Pistons to new heights.

“If I can help get this team to where my goal is to get this team this season, all this stuff will be on the way. I’m not shy to say that. I think that’s very possible,” Cunningham stated.

“Finals MVP, I’d be way happier about that than an MVP,” he added. “Basketball is a team game. To be the MVP, you have to be valuable to your team. And that can look so many different ways. If you’re the best player in the world, you’re probably going to have the best team in the world.”

Detroit Pistons score huge bounceback win vs. Orlando Magic

The Detroit Pistons notched a 135-116 win over the Orlando Magic, following their 116-95 blowout loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday. In the victory, Cade Cunningham led the way with 30 points, six rebounds, 10 assists, three steals, and three blocks on 12-for-24 shooting from the field.

“It’s a great win for us. It’s a team with a lot of talent. Bouncing back from last game, that was an ugly game. We needed to come in and play the right way. It was a good win for us,” Cunningham said via Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press.

“This group has always been resilient and that’s part of the identity with this team and part of the character of the individuals that are on this team. We don’t have individuals who will lay down or quit.” Detroit Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff said.
