Former NBA star Charles Barkley urges Adam Silver to let Tyrese Haliburton’s dad return to the Indiana Pacers’ home games after his viral postgame incident with Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“Hey, my man paid his dues. He did something really, really stupid. But he’s been punished. I’m asking you and the Indiana Pacers to let Mr. Haliburton back in the building for Games 3 and 4,” Barkley said on NBA on TNT.

“Listen, he paid his dues. It shouldn’t be indefinite. He’s been punished enough, he will never do anything that stupid again,” he added.

After Tyrese Haliburton hit the game-winning shot to close out the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round , his dad, John, stormed onto the court and taunted Giannis Antetokounmpo. The two had to be separated, and the elder Haliburton was banned from attending games “for the foreseeable future.”

Indiana Pacers News: Tyrese Haliburton channels inner Reggie Miller in Game 1 win

Tyrese Haliburton sent last night’s game to overtime with a miraculous step-back jumper at the buzzer. The two-time NBA All-Star immediately did a choke sign and pointed to Reggie Miller, who was calling the game as an analyst.

The celebration may have been premature since his shot was deemed a two-pointer. However, the Indiana Pacers did just enough to steal Game 1 at Madison Square Garden.

“I wasn’t like plotting on it or anything,” Haliburton said about his choke sign celebration via ESPN’s Jamal Collier. “Everybody wanted me to do it last year at some point, but it’s got to feel right. It felt right at the time — well, if I would’ve known it was a 2, I would not have done it. So I think I might’ve wasted it.”
