Indiana Pacers vs LA Clippers Ends In A Wild, Unexpected Finish

The LA Clippers secured a narrow 114-113 win over the Indiana Pacers at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in what was a nail-biting finish. The fixture was tense throughout, but the game hit its peak in the dying seconds.

With just three seconds left, the Clippers got to inbound the ball and draw a player for Kawhi Leonard. The two-time NBA champion drained a tough mid-range over two Pacers players to give the Clippers a lead with less than a second left to play. At that point, the Clippers thought they had clinched the game, but in the following play, the refs called a loose-ball foul on Clippers’ Brook Lopez with 0.1 seconds remaining.

Everything came down to Jay Huff, who had previously shot 83.7% for the season from the charity stripe. He had two free throws to win the game for the Pacers. However, the Pacers center missed both attempts, helping the Clippers seal the game.

The victory gave the Clippers a lifeline as they attempt a late-season comeback. Their record now stands at 38–36 with just eight games remaining. On the other hand, the Pacers will have to say goodbye to their playoff hopes this season.

That being said, this game was certainly special for the Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard, who etched his name in the record books.

Kawhi Leonard’s consistency helps him get to a new record

The Clippers’ small forward finished the game with 28 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals. That’s not all, he shot 13/26 from the field in his 35 minutes of play. With that, he made history by becoming the 14th different player in NBA history to score 20 in 50 consecutive games.

After a controversial start due to a few off-court issues, Leonard has been in his best form as a Clippers player since the start of 2026. He is averaging 28 points on just over 50% from the field. Leonard was not a direct selection to the All-Star game, but due to injuries, he managed to make the team, and he exploded for 31 points in a quarter at one of the games during the weekend.

Riding a four-game winning streak, the Clippers will be facing the Milwaukee Bucks on March 30 in an away game. Will they be able to turn the heat once again? Time will tell.
