Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton, who suffered a torn Achilles tendon during Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals and missed all of last season due to the injury, says he’s fully healthy ahead of training camp, writes Zion Brown of The Indianapolis Star (subscriber link).
“I’m 100%,” Haliburton said Monday. “There will be no restrictions. That is not news, there’s no source. I am the source. I’m good, I’m ready to go for the year.”
Although Haliburton indicated he won’t face any type of minutes or back-to-back restrictions, head coach Rick Carlisle was a little more cautious in his assessment, according to Brown.
“I can’t tell you exactly what the load is going to be,” Carlisle said. “We will be in very animated communication about it with the training staff and with him. At this point, it really appears that he has made a great recovery, and a great return to play. … Do not anticipate a lot of limitations. But we will make sure that we go at the correct pace.”
Both Haliburton and Carlisle said the star guard has put on some muscle since we last saw him on the court, Brown adds.
We have several more injury updates from around the NBA:
- While Warriors guard Stephen Curry acknowledged there’s a “management element” to the runner’s knee injury that caused him to miss extended time last season, he’s optimistic it won’t bother him in 2026/27 and says he doesn’t have any limitations right now, tweets Anthony Slater of ESPN. “Knee’s feeling great. Ready to go,” Curry said. “No issues. … I feel a lot stronger and understanding of what I’m dealing with.”
- Lakers guard Luka Doncic, who missed the 2026 playoffs due to a hamstring strain, says that injury is behind him now, according to NBA reporter Mark Medina (Twitter video link). “I’m feeling great,” Doncic said. “I feel rested. Mentally, I feel great. I can’t wait (for the season) to start.” When asked if he had any restrictions, Doncic replied, “No.”
-
Bradley Beal, who was limited to just six games played in 2025/26 due to season-ending hip surgery, is recovered from that ailment, per Law Murray of The Athletic (Twitter link). However, the Clippers guard is battling knee inflammation and won’t be ready for the start of training camp, which opens tomorrow in Hawaii. Beal was also dealing with knee inflammation last fall, though it’s unclear if the injuries are related.
- Bulls guard Josh Giddey has no restrictions following offseason ankle surgery, tweets Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic. Head coach Tiago Splitter expects every player on the Bulls’ roster to be ready for Tuesday’s training camp, with the possible exception of big man Zach Collins, who has an unspecified soft tissue injury (Twitter link via K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network). Collins has battled numerous injuries throughout his career and only played 10 games last season due to wrist and toe ailments.
- While Wizards center/forward Alex Sarr expects to participate in this week’s training camp, he won’t be doing any contact work, according to Josh Robbins of The Athletic, who adds (via Twitter) that the French big man thinks he’ll be able to take full contact in about a week.
- Backup Sixers center Adem Bona gave a minor update on his left foot sprain on Monday, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN (Twitter link). “The treatment has been going well. Actually going very well … I am feeling good,” said Bona, who confirmed the injury occurred over the summer with the Turkish national team.
