Inside Dennis Rodman's emotional return to Chicago

Chicago Bulls legend Dennis Rodman finally made his much-anticipated return to the place he called home and celebrated three championships in—the United Center in Chicago. Although "The Worm" was in town not for a basketball game but for an appearance with All Elite Wrestling instead, Rodman nonetheless felt the love and admiration of his former city and home.

Nothing but love

Rodman's three-year stint in Chicago was marked by immense success and controversy. He joined the team in 1995, forming a formidable "Big 3" with His Airness, Michael Jordan, and Scottie Pippen. He helped the team win three straight NBA titles, giving MJ, Pippen, and coach Phil Jackson their second "three-peat." Rodman averaged 15.3 rebounds in his three seasons with the Bulls, winning the last three of his seven rebounding titles.

In an interview posted on the Bulls' X (former Twitter) page, Rodman had trouble finding words to describe how he felt about his reception at the United Center.

"I get so emotional because they love me so much," Rodman said. "Thirteen years since I've been here, and guess what, there's so much love here, and I respect these people so much.

"Thank God they loved someone that worked their a** off and hope the City of Chicago will love me as much as I love them," Dennis added.
