Insider Reveals Massive Jalen Brunson Injury Update, Provides Potential Return Timeline

For the last 13 games, the New York Knicks have been without Jalen Brunson. During that time, they have gone 8-5 and held onto the third seed in the Eastern Confernce, which is where they have ranked in the standings all season.

Without Brunson, the Knicks did lose some games they likely should have won, but the damage was not substantial. As they gear up for the postseason, a timeline for his return was recently announced by a team insider.

It doesn't sound like fans will have to wait very long to see The Captain back in Madison Square Garden.

"Also on the injury front, I think this weekend is a realistic timeframe for Jalen Brunson’s return from injury," said Ian Begley on SNY. "Brunson has been out with a right ankle sprain since March 8. The Knicks play at Atlanta on Saturday and host Phoenix on Sunday. Based on the current trajectory, I’d expect Brunson to return during one of those games."

Even if he misses the game against the Atlanta Hawks on the road, he will still, presumably, make his return before the postseason. Logically, he will play in only one of the two games this weekend.

For Brunson, his return makes it likely that he will hit the 65-game requirement to be named to his second All-NBA team in a row. Up until now, he has played in 61 games and needs to appear in only four of the next seven games to hit the threshold.
