Interesting update emerges about Bronny James’ future

Bronny James may actually be playing his way into positive trade value.

Other NBA teams are now taking notice of the Los Angeles Lakers guard James, Sean Deveney of Heavy Sports reported on Sunday. Deveney even adds that the Lakers could potentially obtain draft assets, such as a second-round pick or two, in exchange for James.

“There’s definitely interest there,” an anonymous executive was quoted as saying of James. “He’s gotten much better in a short period. He knows his role, and it’s hard to find young guys who just want to excel in their role.”

James, the 21-year-old son of former Lakers star LeBron James, is about to enter his third year in the NBA. To this point of his professional career, James has not shown much, only averaging 2.7 points and 0.6 assists per game on 37/35/81 shooting splits overall.

But James appears to be making some significant progress this offseason, fully leaning into his role as a 3-and-D complementary player. The 6-foot-2 guard has even been said to have multiple fans within the Lakers organization.

Earlier this offseason, LeBron finally decided to leave the Lakers in order to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers (with Bronny later issuing a five-word reaction to the news). Though the Lakers obviously do not have as much incentive any more to keep Bronny around without his famous father, it certainly looks like Bronny could be getting his shot to contribute in the league one way or another.
