Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks will travel to face the Atlanta Hawks on the road. Now, despite Brunson’s warning to the team about slow starts, the Knicks have managed to get into the playoffs. Ahead of entering the knockout stages, the team would like to sharpen their tools and register a win against a strong Atlanta side. But the big question remains, whether or not Brunson will play.

Despite the 29-year-old getting bullied hilariously , the Knicks know how important the 3-time NBA All-Star is for the team. Thankfully, the star has managed to keep himself off the injury list. Playing in the last game against the Chicago Bulls, the 2025 NBA Cup champion dropped 17 crucial points. He is also expected to suit up against the Hawks.

The Knicks are going through a concerning phase at the moment. Since the All-Star break, they are 4-8 against teams that are currently on a winning record. With the playoffs coming in close, such a form will surely keep the roster under tension. On the contrary, the Hawks have done well to climb to the fifth seed. Winning 18 of their last 20 games, the upcoming game looks to be a banger.

Meanwhile, despite being under some pressure, Brunson’s current form is giving a lot of hope.

The 29-year-old is having a fantastic season this year. Averaging 26 points, he has looked sublime. In the last game against the Bulls, Brunson was making a return from a one-game injury absence. But when most people thought that he would be looking a bit rusty, the reality was otherwise.

Playing a splendid hand, Brunson dropped 17 points, a rebound, and 10 assists to post a strong statement. And he did all of this while logging in for just 30 minutes. This was also a welcome break for him as the 2025 NBA Cup MVP posted his first double-double since the team’s loss to the Charlotte Hornets on March 26.

Thus, with things looking upbeat, fans will wait to see how Brunson plays out the rest of the season.
