NBA legend Isiah Thomas has made a striking prediction for the 2025 NBA Playoffs, stirring anticipation for a thrilling first-round matchup.

NBA TV shared Thomas’ take on the Miami Heat vs. Cleveland Cavaliers series, where he stated, “I think this goes 6 or 7.”

This bold forecast suggests a fiercely competitive battle, challenging the Cavaliers’ position as the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Thomas, a two-time NBA champion with the Detroit Pistons and Hall of Famer, sees the Heat as a serious threat to the Cavaliers, potentially extending the series to six or seven games.

The Heat, known for their tenacious defense and playoff experience, are up against a Cavaliers team that boasts the league’s top offense, averaging 121.9 points per game.

Despite the Cavs’ regular-season dominance, including winning two of three meetings against the Heat, Thomas believes the Heat’s resilience could make this a closer series than expected.

The Heat made history as the first No. 10 seed to reach the playoffs, adding to their underdog narrative.

NBA TV’s post also spotlighted Game 1 of the series, which is set for Sunday night at 7:00 PM ET on TNT.

The image accompanying the tweet featured Bam Adebayo, Tyker Herro, and Kel'el Ware donning their numbers 13, 14, and 7, alongside Thomas’ quote.

This matchup promises high stakes and intense action as the Heat aim to defy the odds against a well-rested Cavaliers squad.

Thomas’ prediction has set the stage for a dramatic series—will the Heat prove him right?
