It's it's Tuesday, it must be Props Day

Well, Monday was not an ideal start for us here, but we have a new day and will turn now to the player prop market rather than wager on a winner. With six playoff games on the docket, there's plenty to parse through.

Two guards set to fill up the stat sheet

An NBA prop type we particularly have liked this postseason has been the combination of points, rebounds and assists, otherwise known as PRA. Our regular readers are likely not surprised to see us bringing them up again, but if it ain't broke, right?

Jamal Murray of the Nuggets looks awesome tonight at his PRA line, set at 32.5. While he fell under this in Denver's Game 4 loss, finishing with 31, we're not deterred in the slightest. Murray covered this line in the three previous games and averaged 44 PRA in the two home playoff wins to start this round.

We expect Denver to win this game and advance to the next round, and Murray has been instrumental in the Nuggets' wins. Over the last 20 Denver victories, Murray has gone over this 32.5 PRA line 16 times. We're willing to bet that he does so again in a game we like them to control from the tip.

Betting: Jamal Murray over 32.5 Pts + Reb + Ast (-125 DK)

We're not sorry about this at all, but we're bringing up Marcus Smart once again.

We highlighted Smart's PRA last week, and he covered it with ease, so why would we deviate from our read now? The Celtics guard has gone over his 21.5 PRA line in 18 of his past 25 postseason games, including all four games this series.

He's averaging 28 PRA per game this series, yet to have a game where he's compiled less than 25 points, rebounds and assists. It hasn't just been the playoffs against Atlanta, he's over this line in eight of his last nine against the Hawks.

We're going right back to him here as the Celtics look to close out this series in five games.

Betting: Marcus Smart over 21.5 Pts + Reb + Ast (-125 CZR)

Two-leg parlay on the ice

Roope Hintz and Dallas return home looking to take control of the series against Minnesota, and we like them to find a few goals here tonight. Hintz has been a staple of the Stars' offensive success this series, piling up eight points in four games.

Hintz is averaging 1.9 points per game against the Wild this year and has a point in nine of his last 11 meetings vs. Minnesota. Over the past two seasons, Hintz has a point in all six home playoff games he's skated in, so we'll gladly back him to stay involved tonight.

Connor McDavid's shots is a logical second leg to pair with Hintz. Edmonton returns home with the series tied and you best believe they'd like to get out of here ahead 3-2 over the Kings. This series has been a battle.

McDavid had five and six SOG in the first two games of this series at home, and he's gone over 3.5 shots in seven of his last eight home playoff games. He's averaging five shots/game this series, and after a slight down game on Sunday, we expect him to bounce back in full force tonight.

Betting: Roope Hintz point & Connor McDavid over 3.5 shots on goal (+161 DK)

Outlier Trends of the Day

Boston Celtics — Spread
The Boston Celtics are 8-1 (88.9%) against the spread vs. the Atlanta Hawks off a win over their last nine games.

Boston Celtics -13.5 (-104 FD)

Minnesota Wild — Moneyline
The Minnesota Wild are 1-3-1 (20%) on the road as an underdog in their last five games across the regular season and playoffs in 2022-23.

Dallas Stars moneyline (-140 FD)

In the news ...

Jets finally complete trade for Aaron Rodgers — We mentioned yesterday that a Rodgers trade seemed imminent, and sure enough, the move has finally been made. The Packers received picks No. 13, 42 and 207 in this year's draft, plus a conditional second-round pick in 2024 that could become a first if Rodgers plays 65% of the snaps. The Jets received Rodgers and picks No. 15 and 170 in this week's draft. The Jets are +1400 to win the Super Bowl, the sixth-best odds in the NFL. The Packers now begin a new era with Jordan Love at QB, and have an over/under set at 7.5 wins (+120 to the over).

Monster nights from Jimmy Butler and LeBron James propel Heat and Lakes to 3-1 series leads — Jimmy Butler had himself a playoff game for the books, dropping 56 points on the Bucks in a 119-114 Miami win. Even with Giannis back, it wasn't enough, and now Milwaukee is on the brink of elimination as they head home to extend the series tomorrow. Surprisingly, the Bucks are still just +130 to win the series. In the West, LeBron finished with 22 points and 20 rebounds, leading Los Angeles past Memphis in overtime 117-111. The Lakers are now -1000 to close out the series and +370 to win the West.

Kraken lose Jared McCann for Game 5 and potentially longer — It wasn't all good news for Seattle after winning Game 4 to knot the series with Colorado. One of their offensive leaders, Jared McCann, who scored 40 goals this season, was injured in Game 4 and is out for Wednesday's game and potentially longer. It's a loss for Seattle, no doubt, and Colorado is -210 to the moneyline to take control of the series tomorrow back at home.
