The New York Knicks were at home at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night as took on the Indiana Pacers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
New York entered Thursday’s game in a must-win situation after they had fallen behind 3-1 in the series and they were able to keep their championship hopes alive as they dominated their way past Indiana.
The Knicks cruised to a 111-94 victory in Game 5 despite a slight comeback attempt by the Pacers in the second half as they were able to force Game 6.
Jalen Brunson led the way for New York on Thursday night as he ended the game with 32 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Karl-Anthony Towns also came up big down the stretch as he recorded 24 points, 13 rebounds and three assists despite playing through a knee injury that had him listed as questionable entering the contest.
While Towns had a great performance, it was once again Brunson who stole the show, like he has a ton this season in New York, and he also accomplished a rare NBA playoff feat in Thursday’s victory.
With his 32-point performance, Brunson became the first Eastern Conference guard to record 10 or more 30-point games in the playoffs since Dwyane Wade.

This is an incredible feat for the star point guard and Clutch Player of the Year as he put the Knicks on his back on Thursday night to keep their season alive.
Of course, the Knicks will need him to continue playing the way he has and the rest of the roster to step up if they want to keep their title hopes alive.
Now Brunson and the Knicks will prepare for Game 6 as the series shifts back to Indiana on Saturday as they try to force Game 7 where they can return home to Madison Square Garden with a trip to the NBA Finals on the line.
