Jalen Green and the Phoenix Suns snapped their five-game losing streak on Sunday with a much-needed 120-98 win over the Toronto Raptors. It took the Suns some time, but the team finally got its 40th win of the 2025-26 NBA season. Green played a significant role in the team’s win, scoring 20 points and seven assists on 53.3% shooting.

The team was led by All-Star guard Devin Booker, who had 25 points and six assists on 60.0% shooting. The Suns’ starting point guard, Collin Gillespie, helped Phoenix with his 16-point performance. The former Villanova star was highly efficient from deep as he went 4-for-6. After his big night shooting the 3-ball, he’s now eight shots away from tying the single-season record for 3-pointers made.

Former NBA player Quentin Richardson holds the record with 226 made shots from downtown during the 2004-05 season. After the Suns’ recent win, Jalen Green was asked about his thoughts on his teammate potentially going after the team’s record.

“I’m a big CG fan. It started off in training camp… I knew he had it but I didn’t know he had it like how he was showing in training camp and throughout the season. But yeah, he’s a dog. I’m not surprised by any of it. I’ve already seen it. That’s amazing that he’s about to break the record. That’s fire. That’s a real shooter right there,” Green said.

Gillespie is having a breakout year in his third year in the league. Before their game against the Raptors, the starting guard had averaged 13.3 points and 4.8 assists on 41.8% from deep.

Jalen Green Addressed the Difference in the Suns’ Performance Against the Bucks

The Suns came from a close 108-105 loss against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. It was a close and disappointing defeat for Phoenix. However, the team overcame the setback and did a better job on Sunday. When asked about the major different in their performance, Jalen Green highlighted the defensive side.

“I think we came out more aggressive, defensively and offensively. Guarded. Really the defense. Getting the stops,” Green said. “We got the team to get whatever we want on offense, it’s really that defensive side. That’s where we locked down and doubled down on tonight.”

The Suns will face the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, a matchup that Green believes will be a good test for the team.
